Great Egret talking crazy talk

Ah! I finally got a picture of a bird talking smack! I was pretty happy about that, and even happier that it focused correctly (again, lotsa wind today!). This Great Egret let me actually approach him and the light was pretty decent. I kinda wish the blue water was in the background, but I won't complain. The guy below is a Snowy Egret, but I got his picture today too and wanted to include it. These are some of the first photos I've gotten with the new camera (Canon 7D) that came two days ago...still learning the ropes, but so far i LOVE IT! For more bird photography weekly, go here

Lovely egret, they are common here in quebec..in the summer. Most of them just left for the winter!

Great capture! The bird actually looked quite angry!

Very beautiful photos! The Great Egret seems a bit nervous indeed :-) The Snowy Egret is very noble, an adorable creature! Have a delightful Sunday!

Congratulations on the new camera - you're obviously well on the way to mastering it. Love the "smack talk." I can imagine this shown on TV, with a big "censored" icon flashing constantly in front of the picture.

thanks! he does look a bit irritated, but i think he was just yawning :) egrets seem to flush so easily, but this guy seemed to almost be walking up to me in plain sight. Wren, that's a funny vision !

Well Jill, as Wren said, it looks like you are well on the way to mastering the new camera. Excellent shots of the Great Egret, they are usually quite flighty.

And the Snowy Egret is always fun to watch with their bright yellow feet. I look forward to more great photos from your new camera!
