One Sailboat

This was taken at the North Spit here in Humboldt. It was a gross day and this was later in the afternoon. All the sudden the sun broke through the clouds and let out some pretty sweet sunbeams. There was only one boat out there, this sailboat, and it happened to be in the perfect place. Skywatch Friday , Scenic Sunday , Monochrome Weekend and Happy Holidays :)

perfect shot, perfect timing!!! that is what I love about photography - one meter out, one minute too late and the shot will never be the same .....

Fun when time-place-and conditions all come together. Sometimes the ocean sometimes a sand dune

What a beautiful shot. Just what I needed to see after coming in from a walk to photograph the high waves in the rain and cold - a very different kind of grey!

Welcome to the MonoWeekend.
I would like to include the image on the 'accolade wall' next week. Let me know if you are ok with that.
Happy New Year!

wow! thanks for all the great comments everyone! I was pretty pumped with those sun rays made an appearance, considering the sun didn't come out at all that day! :) And Aileni, definitely, i'm flattered, thank you !

Some of the loveliest photos are those just-by-chance in the right place at the right time. How gorgeous!

Golly, what to say? It's a corker of an image, Jill. You say the sail boat was in the perfect position, but in my experience it takes much patiende to allow a moving object to get into that perfect position. Much patience and experience. I love the delicate touch that you have applied here. The image shows much fragility bordering on the ethereal. I like it very much.

Health and happiness to you and yours during 2010.

Absolutely dazzling and fascinating. Almost ethereal. My best wishes to you and the ones you love.

This image would be very nice on a large wall, all by itself. :)
