Stamen Shadow

From a Zion backpacking trip. It was a huge bloom, though I'm not sure what kind of flower? I was glad it was there because we were in the middle of a 3 mile incline with something like a 4000 foot gain and I was happy to stop and take this picture. Shadow Shot and Today's Fower

Amazing photo - the shadows are so delicate, love how you came up with a creative way to show this flower. I'd love it on my christmas card!

The delicate look of the pistils make this view wonderful. There is a large shadow on the flower and many slight ones. I like this take!

Absolutly wonderful...I remember stalking the Rockies for that perfect shot...what a wonderfully, delicious break those were after a long days hike in the high country.

This is so beautiful. California flowers are usually so large and lovely.

So beautiful. We're lucky to have sunshine while the rest of the country is under snow!

Lovely photo - and that flower must be especially enticing to bees, so bright it almost glows!

Thanks, everyone! I should try to find out what kind of flower this is :) It was one of the prettier ones, and bigger ones and didn't seem to be too common. It's actually from southern Utah (sorry I didn't specify!), thanks for the kind comments, much appreciated!
