Warblers and Dilated Pupils

How do you like that title? I like to confuse everyone by my whereabouts . Currently, I'm in Tennessee for a couple weeks visiting my parents, Garf the Cat, and some friends. Still nomadic. Last month we were in Trinidad and Tobago. 10 days ago we were in Oregon. Then at home in Eureka, Ca for a while, then in the Bay area...hmm. So anyway, the point is that these photos are from today in middle TN.
I went to the eye doctor this morning and had my eyeballs all dilated and stuff, so my picture takin' abilities left a lot to be desired. I had some camera settings wrong and thought things were sharp when in fact...whoa, they sure weren't! Ha! Even though I was tripping all over my feet and couldn't really see all that well, I made an effort.
We got an itty bitty bit of snow last night/this morning but you can see that one can hardly call that snow.

So, here's the only photos I got :) That's an eastern bluebird and yellow-rumped warbler (tons of them around the lake today) and good ol' Dyer Lake, my sweet backyard growing up.

I love your bird shots -- dilated pupils or not!! And, yes, a little snow is better than what they are having in so many places this winter! Last winter it was us, here in Seattle, the most snow in 30 years and this year January was the warmest on record???? Go figure!! Hope the rest of your week goes well!

That could become a new art form - a new way to see the world... Heck! Your pictures are fine! I love the bluebird - his colours remind me of a marble I used to have when I was younger.

I would say those pictures are definitely good even if your eyes are dilated.

No wonder you have such great pictures for your blog. A world traveler. I think you did remarkably well on your photos even if you were having an eye problem. Very nice post.

Change is always hanging about - the bird shots are great and the snow looks quite pretty. Ninety plus inches fell here each of the last two years and less than a foot this year. One never knows. For sure!

Maybe I should dilate my eyes! I'd say you did pretty dang good! How do you get all these gorgeous birds to fly around where you are? I am always amazed by your photos! They are inspiring, to say the least. I am going to hang out a sock feeder in hopes to get to attract something besides the common sparrow...Enjoy Tennessee! I am dying to get to Nashville to see my niece who is going to Belmont college there.

The lake looks inviting even with a coat of snow. Love it in B&W - lovely tone.

wow , thanks everyone! The pupils took until about 3 am to go down - ahh! It was just a regular eye check up, luckily, but man that dilated thing will throw you off for a good 24 hours! It's been so grey since I've been here, and cold too...not many more chances for good bird photos!
Thanks again!
