Grebes and Godwits and Such

Now for the rest of today...I already mentioned the good stuff in the previous post, so here's the rest of the pictures. Seals, gulls, and buffleheads (and driftwood, too) all made an appearance in the below photo. (Marbled Godwits and a Western Grebe above) Abc Wednesday...G=Godwits and Grebes and Watery Wednesday, Weekend Reflections
(Female knucklehead, i mean, Bufflehead below...the males are much more dramatic but he didn't really want his photo taken. Can you see the two little water droplets on her head? talk about water resistant, eh?)
(Avocets scrounging up some grub below)
(More Western Grebes below)
(Western Grebe)
(and the Godwits again)

Oh, Jill, aren't they all lovely! Just posing for the camera! I wish I could find these beautiful birds in my area, still trying to find the best places to go.

Great macros too!

Nature at its finest, and you captured them all so perfectly.

My Wednesday photo is a BROWN PELICAN at the marina [I also have another photo, by link, of the same pelican that is much better...a close up on my photo blog].

COME SEE THE BIRD!

Hope your Wednesday is treating you well.

You are one fabulous photographer. I've never 'met' a field biologist before - super cool.
Lovely, lovely birds. Don't seals on the beach look funny? I see them off the coast on the rocks here, they seem so helpless on the ground.

It is so cool when the surface of the water is still enough and clear enough to get a good reflection of a bird in the water.

You have a lot of good ones there!

Great stuff Jill. My favorites are the images with the patterns formed by the birds in groups. You caught them lined up perfectly.

I'm looking forward to the migrations so I can photograph the birds when they arrive in the spring.

My favorite reflection is the Bufflehead - beautiful!

The Godwits come to New Zealand. It is a big thing. The TV cameras are there to welcome them, and this week is the time they fly back to America.

They are celebrities.
