Magic Light in the Marina

I wanted to stop at Woodley Island marina this evening because the light was acting so crazy, changing every second. These photos were all taken within about 10 minutes of each other, roughly an hour before sunset. The first photo is looking West. I didn't change anything about it, the light was that weird. I love the way it came out. The one right below is from the Southeast, taken less than a minute after the first one. Crazy, huh? The sky was beautiful, and really bright. The cloud reflections in the water were pretty fancy. I thought. We went to the beach at sunset, because it was a really pretty one..but when we got there, the wind was intense, sand was blasting everywhere. I opened the car door for a second and got attacked by sand - getting out and taking the lens cap off would have been a really poor decision. Right after we left the beach, it started raining that slanty painful rain. Weird weather. Skywatch, Weekend Reflections

You are making me homesick for the north coast! I have moved to the desert SW but still miss my days on the beach. I lived in King Salmon and for a time worked security at Woodley Island Marina. Loved it there! Here is a story about my Marina days, Lesson From Night Heron http://scottfree2b.wordpress.com/?s=Lesson+From+Night+Heron I am loving your blog :)

We have lots of marinas here in Auckland, I don't have a boat, my husband being a water engineer likes to go to marinas and I tag along.
