Thumbs up for Trillium

I can't decide if the Calypso Orchid or the Trillium (ovatum) is my favorite wildflower around here. Close call on those two. Both are pretty damn snazzy looking. I took these trillium photos about ten days ago in Arcata. It seems like all the flowers look slightly different, and this particular one had something extra special going on. I really like how the first two shots came out. Today's flower, Macro Monday
The two pictures below are Trillium albidum. I know there are a ton of trillium species and don't know much about any of them. But with these two species, the flower will turn purple as it ages. Pretty cool stuff. Mellow Yellow

Sometimes I wonder if you live on the same planet as the rest of us...you find the most amazing "living" things. These are so beautiful...yum!

These Trillium photos are gorgeous. The second one is the composition I like most. The petals are like white flames, beautiful.
Happy Easter Sunday!

The trillium in your last two images is our provincial flower here in Ontario Canada! It's seen in all our woodlands early Spring and is a protected species.. we cannot pick it and bring home..heavy fines given.
I love that when we protect nature!
Happy Easter!

They're quite something, aren't they? As are your photos! I love the first two, for their clarity and simplicity, but the others are interesting too - we just don't have those flowers here!

Absolutely beautiful! I love trilliums too. I was thinking the other day that I should try and get into the bush to see if they're out here yet.
