Sage Thrasher

This sage thrasher has been hanging around a few days, a pretty rare visitor (about one a year here). They're more typical in Modoc (Northeast CA) and other areas with sage desert. I think he got a little off track...Bird Photography Weekly, Outdoor Wednesday

Beautiful capture of the Thrasher, Jill!

Neat little bit of camouflage there, with the spots. I get so excited when I see a new bird ( or an infrequent visitor). I had a pileated woodpecker 2 years ago and I am still waiting for it to return!

Nice capture! We used to see thrashers in West Virginia, but I haven't spotted one yet here in Indiana.

Thanks for stopping by, and for the tea and sympathy. ;-)

Great picture. Haven't seen this bird before, don't think we have them here in Australia. Very cute.

He is probably as confused with the weather as we all are!! I've never seen one before. Thanks for sharing!

Great shots Jill and quite the find! We had a Sage Thrasher around Redding for awhile but I never got to see it.
