Watery Nuthatches

There have been four White-breasted Nuthatches coming to the suet and the bird bath lately. I love it! I've been taking the suet down at night (since an alleged bear grabbed it one day..) and putting it up when we get back from work (in the late morning). This morning the four of them were waiting patiently for it. Last night two of them were drinking and bathing in the water. Awww! Had a female Western Tanager this afternoon too. The water is attracting tons of birds! I took all these shots from the our bedroom window - glad there's no screen on it! Although yesterday a Steller's Jay did fly into the room. (and flew right back out). We set up the feeders and the water feature just a few feet from our window. Hours of entertainment! My World Abc Wednesday (y=yardbirds) Outdoor Wednesday

Great images. I think having water available really brings in the birds and in the winter, even more so.

Your birds look just that little bit different to ours here in the UK, but yet you can still recognise the shape. They're lovely, and great photos too.

You are providing the birds with all they need to be comfortable - food and water! I also have a water feature and like watching the birds and animals it attracts.

Birds do provide hours of entertainment and what a setup you have to take pictures! My birds always passed up the suet (probably because the squirrel was always eating it). I could watch them for hours on end ♥

Great bird shots! Those aren't easy to get... I have been stalking a pair of humming birds lately... when its hot they sit in my tree over my fountain... Flighty little things!

Lovely bird photos. It's time I had a few new kinds in my backyard. The goldfinches have gone inland because of the June gloom which now continues into July.
