Raspberry Buckwheat

Raspberry Buckwheat. This is probably one of two buckwheats I can identify somewhat confidently. Makin' me crazy! I've been trying to id a bunch of flora and fungus photos the last few days...egads. They're all from different states and countries and it's somewhat tedious. Abc Wednesday (R, Raspberry Buckwheat)
So. These are from the White Mountains (California) in late July, elevation about 10,500 feet. One of my favorite places. Cute little flower. Today's Flower Ruby Tuesday Macro Monday

I've never heard of raspberry buckwheat, it's quite unusual. As are those, um, twitterpated beetles in that top shot! :=}

Fantastic flowers, great photos, they look like beautiful bouquets.

That last image looks like a bouquet of miniature roses. Good luck with the IDs. Many of flower images are labeled "unknown LYF." or just DLYF. ;)

From the title, I immediately thought pancakes. I've never heard of that combo before, but is sounds delicious. The flowers are beautiful.

wow, those are beautiful. Buckwheat (Eriogonum fasciculatum) in southern California was eventually just about my favorite plant in the coastal sage scrub, and part of it is the delightful texture of those flower puff balls. It's hard to walk by them and not give them a honk. =)

I've never seen it before! Yes, some plant families are very difficult. My bugaboo is the aster family. LOL

I have never seen pink Buckwheat - only cream colored. These are lovely - the flower reminds me of Dianthus (but not the leaves...). I have a hard enough time learning the names of the plants in my back forest!

Great macros on the lovely colored Buckwheat !
Don´t think we have Raspberry Buckwheat in Sweden ??
But we have purple Buckwheats :)

Raspberries on Buckwheat pancakes ?

Erio- means Wool, which explains the fluffy coating on the flowers.

It looks like Eriogonium gracilipes to me. Nice, if you can find i.

I'm not familiar with this plant. We have neither raspberry nor buckwheat, let alone a plant that combines their names. :-D Thank you for sharing these pictures.

I never knew buckwheat had flowers let alone such lovely ones. I'd have guessed it looked like regular wheat.
