The first think I thought of when I saw your photograph was the movie The Birds. That movie scared me to pieces.

Have a terrific WW. :)

Wow! Great portrait shot! If he could I'm sure he'd hang it in his nest for all of the flock to enjoy!

Great shot! Corvids are such cool birds. So smart, so full of personality, and cool, brooding dark good looks.

this guy has feathers that look like fur. Not knowing anything about him, I checked him out at the Cornell Lab Of O. website and listened to his call. very much like a crow around these parts. the description said that juveniles have red insides to their mouths. great shot; I love the eyes on this fellow.

Very nice. I've grown to love ravens and crows.

It's funny - he looks all soft and peaceful, but I bet he could mess you up with that beak.

Now that bill looks like it could rip apart some carrion! Beautiful bird actually.

Happy WW!

I love ravens and that is a wonderful shot. When my girls were little and I was teaching them all the different sounds the animals made (horse says neigh, cow says moo, etc.) I taught them Raven says Nevermore. It was so cute. Thanks for bringing back that memory.

Such a neat picture...all I could think of was Edgar Allen Poe, though!

I love the detail you captured in this photo.

Thanks for sharing it with us.

I'm so sorry for my confusing comment above.

I had signed into my daughter, Angela's, g-mail to check something and forgot to sign out.

And now I can't delete the comment.

So...just pretend the A+ above is from me and we will be right on track.

My apologies for this confusion.

What a funny name for a raven...."Chihuahua". Definitely does not resemble a chihuahua at all :) This guy reminds me of the ginormous crows that we have here in Tokyo. They are so huge that there's a running joke that they can totally grab a baby and fly away with them.

Great capture!

They are such big birds! Some are so black they look blue in the sun.~Ames
