Hermit Thrush

Inconspicuous with a pretty little song, you gotta love these guys. They're pretty wide spread in
North America, with three subspecies groups. There's something about hermit thrushes that just make me smile. These are 2 different individuals from West Texas. Camera Critters SOOC Bird Photography Weekly World Bird Weekly

I look at these shots and just shake my head, "How does she do it?" I think now I've figured it out. The birds where I live simply do not cooperate in having their photo taken.

Beautiful... looks like our UK thrush. I love to see them in the garden.

Pretty and cute. I don't think he is found here along the southern coast of CA but maybe further inland.

There are some subtle shadows in these photos--small, of necessity, because the hermit thrush is a diminutive creature!

Such a pretty little guy! One of my goals is to learn to take pictures like that of small birds (I can sometimes get the big ones, who hold still longer.) So many goals.....;>) Meantime and just in case I never make it, thanks for sharing your great pictures!~

Was the bird in the first picture about to take off? Lovely shots Jill. Why is it called a hermit thrush?

That first shot is really cool Jill. Hermit Thrushes always make me smile too. Their song is so beautiful. I saw one a few days ago, hiding in the shade of an oak tree at Battle Creek Wildlife Area. I haven't seen one in my yard lately but I expect I will soon.
