Mexican Jays Part II

Aphelocoma ultramarina made their debut on the blog last month but I got bunches of photos of them, so alas, they have returned! Also, it's so tired in here (yeah, that's what I said) so that's all the text you get for now. Camera Critters SOOC Bird Photography Weekly

Well worth a few more shots. They are much too beautiful to hide away.

I feel like that about writing comments most of the time, just too tired to think. A wonder you managed to post at all.

Oh, he is BEAUTIFUL! We have a scrub jay in our desert neighborhood. He SHOULD be up at about 1,500 to 2,000 feet, in the pinyon forest. We thought for sure he would find his way up there last spring, but he stayed in the desert. He is very noisy and now the mockingbirds imitate his calls!

Thank you for the pics!

I have so missed seeing them in my yard this winter. There were a half dozen or so nearly everyday last December through February.

Beautiful images, love the pale blue colour of this glorious looking Jay. As for the writing part...when the images are this exceptional, spoken words/written words are not needed ~

" it's so tired in here" - this is very cryptic. Even the Jays seem to be wondering...

Mexican Jays are so cool! Looks like you found some nice photogenic ones too. I saw several of them in southeastern AZ back in Nov 2006, but that was the only time.
