Bristlecone Pine land. As mentioned many times, one of my favorite places. Favorite field site ever. Skywatch

It's got a haunting beauty and is definitely photogenic, especially when your camera is aimed at it!

Love the foreground as much as the sky, Jill. :)

Wow. Besides the usual awesome grandeur of your rockin' landscape photos, is it me, or does that tree look like it's "toes up"? =) Yes, it's an amazing, ethereal, uniquely moving place. And I think walking on pumice is so delightfully freaky!

Gorgeous skies, Jill! What really grabbed me was the dead tree with what looked like it's four "legs" sticking up in the air!! Definitely a "dead" tree! Fabulous capture! Have a great weekend!

Super nice shot! The dead tree catches one's attention then those fabulous clouds keep the viewer looking around. I really love those cloud formations. Good capture!

Great shot Jill!! Boom & Gary of the Vwermilon River, Canada.

How wonderfully the dead tree branched match with the snow free patches in the mountains, as though they were the upward strokes of the branches. All topped by the fluffy cumulo-nimbus clouds.
A delightful landscape altogether.

Bristlecone Pines are so photogenic. Their beauty withstands the ravages of time and though they lean, they are tenacious. The sky is the perfect backdrop for their beauty.

It's like the clouds are all lined up towards the distance and their shadow on the mountainside. this is gorgeous. I can see why it would be your favorite field site. happy SWF and have a beautiful weekend.

I really like the composition of this, with the layers of clouds that seem to be moving toward the viewer.

Um contraste: vida e morte. Um céu azul com núvens brancas e vivas, e uma árvore morta ao chão. Muito lindo!
