Magic Light

So there's this gnarly old rundown abandoned house at our field site which may as well be the setting for some horror movie. There are black vultures nesting upstairs in a closet (watch out so you don't fall through the floor) and a Western Diamondback that has claimed the main level as his turf.  Pretty confident  there is Hanta Virus and other weird airborne diseases lingering around with the broken glass and moldy insulation.  As totally freaky and disgusting as it is, it makes for a nice photo op at sunrise. There are tons of broken windows around the place creating some insane shadows and lighting.
I spent a few minutes recently taking some quick photos before I went into the field. I plan on going back and spending some more quality time in there (with a gas mask? ha!). This isn't my normal style (obviously). Man-made stuff doesn't really do it for me when it comes to photography but it was hard to resist this.  This light was magical. I need more of it. VERY nice photos! You really managed to capture the spooky feel to the place.

It is a wonder it is so accessible, given its evidently dangerous condition!

Lots of creative oportunities! I'm not even going to ask what's with the last photo.

Many thanks for risking your well-being to get these phenomenal shots! They're truly magical.

Did you happen to also shoot some "Blair Witch" style video? :-)

These are fantastic shots! Horror movie or not, places like this offer some spectacular scenes like those you've captured.
