Birds! I took some photos of 'em, again, finally. I spent the last ten days near Anahuac National Wildlife Refuge (nice!). I was working (no camera with me) most of the time, but managed to find a little free time in between and I spent a day when I was done working running around with the camera. Love them all, but had to choose a fave...third one up from bottom...great share~
Beautiful little shore birds, so glad you had an opportunity to get some shots. Anahuac is on my list of places to get to someday.
what interesting creatures. "birds" so different than what i get to see around here... wow, so beautiful. (:
Nice bird, - great WBW post!
Wow, some really amazing birds and great shots too.
A great series of photos. I especially like the Sanderling which migrates down here also.
Working? And no camera? Oh boy, and seeing all this, it would take a lot out of me to not be able to photograph them.
The ones you did share today are super.

Great series!! Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.
Wonderful shots. The last one looks like he's kissing his reflection.
They're so darned cute! The first one seems pensive, as if he's thinking, "I don't think I feel hungry. I'm tired of eating the same thing at every meal day after day. *sigh*" And the little tubby guy second from the bottom looks like he's saying, "If you're not going to eat it, then can I have it? *burp!*" LOL Those two are my favorites, but they're all charming!
These are precious photos and so good as all your nature photos are. Nice to see you again Jill..it has been a rough couple of months with my Mother's passing and I am just starting to get back on my feet so to speak..Michelle
I'm so glad you took a day off -- thanks for sharing it. Love all the birds (lots of fun memories of the first time we saw/heard laughing gulls) .. The stilt is a favorite!(Maybe because even I can recognize and ID it!).
The Willet is surely an odd looking bird. Nice set of shots.
Beautiful captures!
I think I like the Laughing Gull the best...looking forward to getting to this refuge someday.
ANAL BIRDER ALERT: The top bird is a Western Sandpiper, not a Sanderling (bill is too long).
Beautiful shots Jill! The Black-necked Stilt with the reflection is gorgeous but my fave is the straight on shot of the Laughing Gull!
tres reussi,bravo
Amazing captures ! It take so much patience and chance to success in this kind of photography... I admire your work.
Beautiful birds and terrific captures, Jill, as always! Glad you managed to get them and share them! Looks like such a great refuge! Enjoy your weekend!
I love little shore birds. Super cute, especially the first shot. Thanks for sharing :)
