Reddish Egret

Reddish Egret (Snowy in the background).
I was shooting directly into the sun, so I'm not really into the light here.

Simple but effective, I like the over exposure of these it works very well.

Regarding the bird I was lucky enough to see one in Venezuela earlier this year... performing its intoxicated dance

Nice images under difficult conditions. The light actually added to the feel of the first one.

Jill, I was in No. California for the first time and our sisters-in-law took us to see the egrets and herons and even turkey vultures, as well as sea lions and whales, who breached several times. Of course, no one got these types of lovely shots. Thanks for a nice memory! Amy

Hi there - shots into the light can be a real pain - but this one looks good.

The hoopoe did make my day and I only had to wait a few hours after seeing it for my luggage to catch me up!

Cheers - and thanks for linking to WBW

No matter....it's still great!!! Love these birds!!! I don't see the reddish very often, but when I do, I'm elated.

Hope you can find a bit of time today to stop by and visit to view my collection of feathered friends this week!!
